Mouth-Wateringly Chocolatey
We travelled into the Main Hall created by the first Earl of Handsforth, West Midland Exhibition and our favourite spot, Cadbury's World. I absorbed the mouth-wateringly chocolatey scent and imagined my body turned into a delicious piece of chocolate.
I am not an avid sport devotee. Tennis interested me when Bjorn Borg donned the crown, but not nowadays.
I noticeably declined to share the slightest excitement my cousin exhibits for football and hockey. However he was in for a total shock recently. A passing enquiry, 'Are you going to Birmingham?' generated a pretty favourable response out of myself, who he deemed feckless in matters of sport.
I had to tell him that Birmingham in my opinion has never meant football, but carnival, art and historical sites.
And not forgetting- Birmingham comedy events!
The comedy Birmingham event was a bit like a burlesque. The crowd beside me were howling with laughter and I didn't fend off the urge to join them.
There seemed to be a nod to the Shakespearian style, with the court-jester bringing in contemporary allusions and exposing 3 or 4 members of the audience to gentle, mocking jibes. The following morning we embarked on our guided visits. The football fan was abandoned to his own devices. The Hawthorns was calling. The initial visit was to an impressive gallery that is home to a lot of the finest works in contemporary U.K. art and craft.
We arrived at Birmingham at more or less two o'clock and opted to attend to our touring sessions the next day.
We did very little the initial afternoon, bar stroll about the neighbourhood. Then it became evening and the concierge recommended that we may well love comedy Birmingham performances at the nearby venue. My sister who isn't a theatre fancier was sceptical, however I was pretty keen. We ventured in, despite the fact that we never knew what to expect.
But the outing transpired to be most memorable.
We grabbed the opportunity and finalized a large investment in those unique chocolate creations. I took a mental note that my Birmingham souvenirs for my acquaintances will not feature those mouth-watering confectionaries. For a while, on the fourth day of the jaunt, our cousin came with us, considerably to our disbelief. We looked round the RAF Museum.
