Doing the Necessary
I was in the flat a few days ago. It was a Saturday therefore I wasn't working.
I was carrying out a bit of cleaning. I do not really like cleaning very much, although I equally don't like living in a pig-sty of a home. However I don't intend to pay anybody else to clean the house.
So occasionally I am obliged to carry out some cleaning, though I do not particularly enjoy it.
All of us are required to carry out things we don't like now and then.
Ordinarily when I'm cleaning I put on some tunes. I find that a bit of background music helps me like cleaning to a greater extent. I stuck on a bit of electro, which is my best-loved kind of music. In no time at all I'm caterwauling along to the songs and dancing about while I do the housework. This makes the time go by much more quickly.
It was late morning, so the wireless was on. Usually I put on a record or put on a few tunes on my laptop.
I was loving the music while doing the housework, though I was also listening to the commercials. Because it is a local radio show, they frequently feature good deals on for things in town. I have come across several bargains thanks to the radio. It happened that many of the advertizements were talking about bookings for the office Christmas party.
That is what got me contemplating the office Christmas party, and how fast the years pass nowadays. Last year for the Christmas party we went out to a restaurant and then to a night-club. But this December I think we might just have a party in work. These are harsh economic times therefore we have to keep costs down.
I had been in my home the other day when I realised that it is nearly time to start organising the office Christmas party. I used to think that a year took an eternity to pass.
Now it seems like a full 12 months passes in the blink of an eye.
